Hey friends! 👋 As I mentioned in my newsletter this month, I’m diving into tube setting tips — and I’m kicking things off by talking about one of my favorite bench tools: the tube cutting jig.

I’ve had mine since college and it has seen A LOT of use. 😄 This little tool can be held by hand or secured in a bench vise, and it has a small arm that holds your tubing in place with a slot and an adjustable arm for different lengths — so you’re not just cutting small pieces, you’re cutting pieces that are all essentially the same size. Game changer for consistency!

If you do a lot of tube settings or you’re wanting to get into them, this tool is a total no-brainer. And honestly it’s not just for tubing — I’ve used it on square rods, rectangular wire, and more over the years. It’s one of those tools that just keeps finding new jobs at the bench. 🔧
