🚨 SAFETY TIP 🚨shared by @theschoolofjewellery.ie
“I’m always very safety conscious – ask any of my students. I’ve heard too many stories (some of them more myth than fact) about accidents in jewellery workshops to take chances.
One of my biggest worries has always been forgetting to turn off my pickle pot or ultrasonic cleaner. Both have heating elements, and the thought of them boiling dry is something I’d rather not risk. More than once I’ve driven the 20 minutes back to the workshop, only to find I had remembered to switch everything off – frustrating, but worth it for peace of mind.
To solve this, I now use WiFi smart plugs. They let me check appliances remotely, switch them off from my phone, and even set them up so that when I leave the workshop, they turn off automatically.
If you’re someone who worries about leaving equipment running, I definitely recommend them – they’ve made a huge difference to my peace of mind and safety.”
