Cuttlefish Bone Ring Casting from @jewelrystudio_47 🐚✨
“While walking along the shore, I came across cuttlebone fragments and decided to use them to duplicate a ring.
To begin, the cuttlebone is carefully sawed into two halves and gently rubbed together to create a smooth fit. One half is then pressed with the original ring to form an impression, and the second half is placed on top to complete the mold.
This creates a negative space, which is then carved with a small channel to allow molten silver to flow in during casting.
In this particular piece, I added garnets to accentuate the design and give it a touch of warmth. The delicate lines visible in the final piece are a natural imprint of the cuttlebone’s organic structure.”
