Here is a tip for cleaning up a backplate, it’s just one way of doing it and I’d love to hear and see your way of doing it! First I use a sanding roll to quickly shape any big ridges sticking out, then I use a barrette file #2 cut, using controlled strokes, and lastly I use sanding sticks! Starting with a heavier grit like 320 I then work my way to a finer grit. Works awesome!
