I have found it easier to flatten the ring to solder the seam but if you prefer to keep the ring perfectly round you can certainly do that! The ring stretcher at the end, it does stretch, however I am not pushing the ring to the point of stretch I am simply using it to shape. You can also place a ring in your dapping block and give it a few gentle hits from both sides to true it up!!! Would love to hear your thoughts as well! Thank you to
