Beginner sawing tip: if you are having a hard time catching the metal on the first few saw strokes use your fingernail as a guide to rest the saw blade next to. YOU ARE NOT SAWING INTO YOUR NAILS HERE. It will prevent it from sliding around so you can get your first cut ☺️ OTHER TIPS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO TRY THIS (shared by our community) Saw into the wood of your bench pin to help you get traction on the first cut. Start at a 45 degree angle I totally to help you get traction OR file a notch so you can easily start sawing!
